Hottest Band In The World !!!
In the total darkness, a sensational show burst onto stage as the introductions were made for the world's hottest band, in true Don't Stop I'm About to Jazz style, and the curtain dropped! From young children to gray-haired fans, scanning the crowd revealed it all: smiles on every face, and every single person in the packed arena on their feet. Lights, fire, electric guitars, cannons, and a deafening roar from the crowd filled the air.
My guys, the loves of my life for 40 years, were onstage in full make-up. Four guys ages 67, 65, 58, and 55, WOW, you would NEVER have known! They rocked their instruments, their vocals were strong (this is after 1 or 2 shows per week since July 4th), and their physical ability to jump, run, knee drop, fly through the air, and never performing in one spot was ASTOUNDING. We heard all the classics, and they threw in some of the later stuff as well.
An awesome front man and lead singer Paul Stanley (65), his interaction with the crowd in his strong New York accent was mesmerizing. Gene Simmons (68) spat blood and ate fire and showed us his tongue a few times, of course. The drummer Eric Singer (58) isn't seen out front until he sings the Peter Criss ballad Beth, but you always feel his presence. Tommy Thayer (55) totally rocks the lead guitar, all over the stage, and everyone gets the full effect of his amazing talent.
Midway through the show, the audience was asked to participate in the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE to the flag! How many concerts have YOU been to where the pledge was performed? A beautiful patriotic ceremony followed, ending in a musical rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.
In a blink of an eye, fireballs, smoke, lights, and cannons filled the air, and the rock and roll continued until the very last note. Then, the confetti fell from the sky like a snowstorm. It was breathtaking through the laser lights and the cheers. We walked out of that arena with huge smiles and a lifetime of memories. Everyone needs to experience one of their shows.
